Bristol is a great place to live. As well as being a great place for art, it is also a great city for food. Across the whole of Bristol there are cafes and restaurants serving amazing, creative dishes. One such place is The Malago - a restaurant located in the vibrant Southville area in the south of the city. And The Malago is also a place to go and see fabulous contemporary art made by local artists.
Abigail Coombs is the woman responsible for curating the exhibitions at The Malago. Originally from Bristol, she now lives in Hay-on-Wye and runs a gallery called Oil & Oak. Every couple of months she organises an open call for artists to take part in an exhibition at The Malago. The current exhibition is called FLOW and my work is included, along with the work of ten other local artists.
I have 10 pieces of work in the exhibition. The pieces are mixed media on paper (21cm x 15cm) and are framed in 21cm x 30cm frames. Each piece is made by combining print, paint and collage.
The exhibition runs until 11th June 2023, so if you are in the Bristol area, why not book yourself into The Malago for a spot of lunch and take a look. The Malago, 220 North St, Southville, Bristol BS3 1JD.
