2023 has been a busy year so far! After using the first 3 months of the year to explore my art practice via my 'Art of the Day' project, I have been preparing finished artworks for exhibitions during April and May.
Last week I submitted a number of pieces to the Friends of the RWA Exhibition. This is an annual exhibition and it is the second year that I have taken part. Submissions are selected and this year the judges included That Art Gallery owner Andy Phipps, and RWA Academicians Maxine Relton and Leslie Glenn Damhus.
I was delighted that 3 of my pieces were selected for the exhibition. They are all Mixed Media on Paper (in 40cm x 40cm frames) and are called (from left to right) Thoughtful, Made and You be the judge.
The exhibition takes place at the Create Centre, which is located in B Bond Warehouse - a former bonded warehouse built to serve Bristol Harbour. Built in 1908, B Bond was the second of three warehouses constructed close to Cumberland Basin to meet the demands of the tobacco import boom of the early 20th century. It is a Grade II listed building.
The exhibition runs from 13th-25th May 2023 and is open Monday - Friday (11am-5pm) and Saturdays & Sundays (11am–4pm). Admission is free. If you can't make it to the exhibition in person, all work is available to view and buy on the RWA website.
